3G Sunset – What you Need to Know!

You most likely have seen advertisements for faster cell phone services by the cellular companies. This has allowed for our phones to do more and more functions at faster speeds. The downside to this progress is that the cellular companies need to make room for the new faster networks, and they are accomplishing this by eliminating the 3G network.

Saying Goodbye to 3G Network

Since most cell phones are not running on the older 3G network, this is a non-issue for phone users. However, if your alarm system utilizes a 3G cellular communicator, it will be impacted. What this means is that, if you do not upgrade your alarm, it will no longer have the ability to communicate alarm conditions. We realize this is a somewhat frustrating situation but please understand this is totally out of our control.

The upgrade options available to you will depend on your current system and what features you want going forward. In some cases, a simple new device can be added. In other cases, there may be reasons to consider upgrading to a completely new system.
