We are proud to announce that our very own electrician apprentices, Patrick Flannery, Kate Flannery, and Jeremy Welle are three of the best apprentice electricians in the nation!

After competing against 30,000 electricians from across the U.S. and judged on quality workmanship, safety, and timing, the J. Becher Student/Apprentice Team took first place in an all-expenses-paid trip to the IDEAL INDUSTRIES’ National Electrician Finals Competition held at Walt Disney World® in Orlando, Florida where they competed for the grand prize of $30,000 and $5,000 for their school, Minneapolis Electrical JATC.

Patrick Flannery, Kate Flannery, and Jeremy Welle represent the professionalism and expert craftsmanship that make up our team of residential and commercial electricians who provide electrical services with a focus on safety and quality.

Patrick Flannery was part of the Student/Apprentice Team and has been with J. Becher & Associates as a Residential Electrician since May 2013. Patrick and his team competed at the IDEAL Championship and won the overall ‘Student/Apprentice Team Competition’, defending his title for the third year in a row, and was awarded $10,000!

Jeremy Welle was part of the Student/Apprentice Team and has been with J. Becher & Associates as a Residential Electrician since March 2010. Jeremy and his team competed at the IDEAL Championship and won the overall ‘Student/Apprentice Team Competition’, defending his title for the second year in a row, and was awarded $10,000!

Kate Flannery was part of the Student/Apprentice Team and has been with J. Becher & Associates as a Residential Electrician since June 2016. Kate and her team competed at the IDEAL Championship and won the overall ‘Student/Apprentice Team Competition’ and was awarded $10,000!

Showcasing Electrical Expertise

IDEAL Electrical, a world leader in electrical tools and wire termination, began the National Electricians Competition to celebrate professional electrical tradesmen and students/apprentices from across the U.S. in a three-round competition that showcases their abilities and expertise. Contestants demonstrate both their problem-solving and physical skills in four categories: wire cutting, stripping, termination and testing through a multi-station speed test judged by fastest completion time and overall accuracy of the wire connection.
