J. Becher Electrician & Project Made the News!
The Star Tribune published an article that noted one of our projects, Prior Crossing, a 44-unit apartment building under construction along University Avenue W. in St. Paul! J. Becher & Associates is proud to be the electrical contractor for this multi-family housing project. In the photo, J. Becher’s electrician, Josh Wakefield, is shown reviewing plans with part of the construction team.
In addition to the electrical, J. Becher & Assoc. also installed multiple low voltage components including an access control system using Mircom, which allowed us to combine the entry system, intercoms, and card access system into one platform. We also integrated a fire alarm system with an AES communication radio and an ACTi IP Camera System with high quality 3 megapixel cameras that are able to provide an incredible amount of detail.
“This building is a good example of how J. Becher’s portfolio of products and services as well as our approach to each project allows us to integrate systems and clients the best products and the latest technology,” notes Chris Kilpatrick, Commercial Low Voltage General Foreman.
Affordable Housing in Minnesota
Prior Crossing is an example of a new construction eligible for MHFA’s Housing Infrastructure Bond Program – designed for the restoration of existing low-income housing and the construction of new “supportive” housing units, which combines not just the apartments themselves, but also social services targeted to those on the edge of homelessness. Amherst H. Wilder Foundation will provide its on-site social services to help assist the residents with issues ranging from education to employment
The article titled, “Dayton’s Proposal For $90 Million In Affordable Housing Catches Attention of Developers” notes the allocation would be a record amount for affordable-housing spending. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2016.
